AFGE Local 1033 is the “Exclusive Representative” for all permanent GS-Civilian non-supervisory professional employees employed by San Antonio Military Medical Center (SAMMC) formerly known as Brooke Army Medical Center (BAMC), Fort Sam Houston, Texas. Local 1033 represents employees on all work place issues.

- Headquartered in Washington D.C.
- Divided into 12 Geographical Districts consisting of approximately 1,100 Locals. Each district has an NVP.
- Agencies with the highest concentration of union membership include the DOD, Department of VA, SSA and Department of Justice.
